A Metabolic Approach to ASD
Autism Spectrum Disorder is increasingly understood as having a metabolic and inflammatory component, not just genetic. Chronic brain inflammation (neuroinflammation) and gut dysfunction are common co-morbidities.
How It Works
Umbilical Cord MSCs are administered intravenously (IV). They hone in on systemic inflammation and help regulate the immune response.
- Gut-Brain Axis: By reducing gut inflammation, many parents report improvements in behavior and focus.
- Neuro-protection: Cells secreted growth factors that may support neural connectivity.
What to Expect
This is controversial and results vary.
- Positive Responders: Often show improved eye contact, verbalization, and reduced aggression within 3-6 months.
- Non-Responders: About 20-30% of patients see no significant change.
Safety: The procedure itself (IV infusion) is very safe. Our partners do NOT perform risky intrathecal (spinal) injections for children unless specifically indicated.
